But how can those without a direct window into the peer review process be assured of its quality, both the entire body of peer review that a journal or project organizes, and more specifically the reviews covering an individual article?<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/e\/1FAIpQLSf1eKh7OaA79GzTbWGNPM79dmOhMr6PTCNsLW3P3HBAm8Ey3g\/viewform?usp=sf_link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Register now<\/strong><\/a> for the ReimagineReview community call (September 20, 2019 \u2013 9am PDT, 12pm EDT, 6pm CEST) featuring short presentations from speakers who take different approaches to demystify the peer review process, to be followed by an interactive discussion.<\/p>\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Speakers<\/strong><\/h4>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Chris Jackson<\/strong>, Professor at Imperial College, advocates for signing peer reviews<\/li>\n<li><strong>Quincey Justman<\/strong>, Editor in Chief of <em>Cell Systems, <\/em>is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cell.com\/cell-systems\/fulltext\/S2405-4712(19)30197-8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">experimenting<\/a> with publishing peer review<\/li>\n<li><strong>Amy Brand<\/strong>, Director of the MIT Press, is co-lead of the <a href=\"https:\/\/prt.pubpub.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Peer Review Transparency<\/a> project, which seeks to create agreed-upon terms for describing how a work has been peer reviewed<\/li>\n<li><strong>Tony Ross-Hellauer<\/strong>, Leader of the Open and Reproducible Research Group at Graz University of Technology, is surfacing journal peer review policies with <a href=\"https:\/\/transpose-publishing.github.io\/#\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Transpose<\/a><\/li>\n<li><strong>Bahar Mehmani<\/strong>, Reviewer Experience Lead at Elsevier, has participated in data sharing with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.peere.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">PEERE<\/a> initiative<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/reimaginereview.asapbio.org\/\"><em>ReimagineReview<\/em><\/a><em> is a registry of platforms and experiments innovating around peer review of scientific outputs.
