{"id":3817,"date":"2025-03-24T16:16:19","date_gmt":"2025-03-24T16:16:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pl-asapbio.local\/?post_type=tribe_events&#038;p=3817"},"modified":"2025-03-24T16:16:19","modified_gmt":"2025-03-24T16:16:19","slug":"preprints-in-progress","status":"publish","type":"tribe_events","link":"https:\/\/asapbio.org\/event\/preprints-in-progress\/","title":{"rendered":"Preprints in Progress"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>At our Community call in June, we explored how we can expand the use of preprints beyond the deposition of papers ready for journal submission.<\/p>\n<p>Preprints are increasingly used for the dissemination of research, however, most preprints still take the form of traditional research papers posted shortly before submission to a journal.<\/p>\n<p>ASAPbio believes that we can accelerate research by substantially expanding the use of preprints to report a wide range of outputs: early-stage results from a small set of experiments, negative or inconclusive findings , confirmatory results, and much more. At the Community Call, we covered:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>ASAPbio\u2019s vision and plans for our\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/asapbio.org\/preprints-in-progress\">\u2018Preprints in progress\u2019<\/a>\u00a0project that seeks to expand the use of preprints.<\/li>\n<li>Alexandra Navarro from the Whitehead Institute (MIT, US) spoke about her experience with the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biorxiv.org\/content\/10.1101\/2020.12.13.422530v2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">preprint<\/a>\u00a0she posted to share early results from her project, and which she has been shaping over the last year based on community feedback.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>At our Community call in June, we explored how we can expand the use of preprints beyond the deposition of papers ready for journal submission.
