This whitepaper addresses the increasing recognition of preprints in academic research, particularly within the biosciences, and offers comprehensive recommendations for institutional policies and practices to enhance their adoption.
We give an overview of the proposed revisions to the TOP Framework and consider how researchers, preprint services, and journals can use TOP to enhance research transparency and credibility.
The purpose of this brief is to provide an introduction to an increasingly popular way of communicating outputs of research: the Publish-Review-Curate (PRC) model. This model came into practice in the early 2000s, and it is now beginning to grow more rapidly. Here, we explain the model for the benefit of researchers, research funders, research institutions, and others in the scholarly communication ecosystem, and we provide data on uptake of the model to date.
In this community call, we hear from researchers based in India and Africa about their experiences with preprints.
